History of No Strings Attached Lemoncello - It all started with our mutual love of lemoncello.
The story of No Strings Attached Lemoncello starts with two good friends. Cheryl St. Onge and Joan Sheary, who embarked on what was to become a challenging adventure. Friends for over 30 years, Joan and Cheryl met while teaching at the same school. They would often met up after work for dinner and drinks.
Joan’s Mother-in-Law, who came from Pontelandolfo, Italy, made her own “potent” version of limoncello. Cheryl had never tasted limoncello prior to having Nanny’s, but it quickly became her favorite after dinner drink.
About fifteen years ago, a restaurant located in Orleans, Massachusetts served Cheryl and Joan, a cream-based lemoncello and they were hooked. After years of enjoying lots of dinners and drinking numerous brands of lemoncello they were convinced that a better product could be created. “Product development” started in a kitchen on Cape Cod where the two set out simply to produce a cream-based lemoncello. After several iterations, extensive experimentation, and more than a handful of false starts, they soon discovered they were headed in the right direction. What started out in a random haphazard manner, had evolved into a true artisan endeavor. The recipe uses only the highest quality ingredients and relies on focused and deliberate attention to the production process.
